! Fruitful cooperation and unlimited support
In affirmation of the principle of integration and joint cooperation between the faculty and civil society institutions, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Faculty of Education, Helwan University, and Misr El-Kheir Foundation
This protocol stipulates that the Misr El-Kheir Foundation will provide 40 scholarships to students of the International Diploma Program in Inclusive Learning Activities: Tokatsu 特別活動, at a rate of 50%, for a period of three academic years.

Prof. Dr. Rashida Al-Taher, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research,
Prof. Mona Abu Hashima, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development,
Prof. Lubna Shehab, Program Coordinator,
officials from Misr El-Kheir Foundation, and representatives from Fukui University in Japan, the main partner in implementing the diploma program.
The signing of the protocol coincided with the official launch of the Tokatsu Diploma program for the 2025/2026 academic year, amid great enthusiasm from students and faculty members participating in teaching from Helwan University, Fukui University, and various Egyptian universities.
During the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hossam Hamdy emphasized that the Faculty of Education is honored to cooperate with Misr El-Kheir Foundation and is proud of it as a national institution that aims to improve the quality of life for members of Egyptian society. Education is one of the most important priorities in its development plans and programs. He pointed out that the Faculty of Education at Helwan University attaches great importance to this important international program (Tokatsu 特別活動) and harnesses all available material and human resources to ensure its implementation with the utmost precision, efficiency, and professionalism.
Dr. Saber Hassan also explained that the Misr El-Kheir Foundation pays special attention to education and seeks to establish partnerships and cooperation agreements with many influential actors and educational institutions to provide excellent learning opportunities to as many individuals as possible. He pointed out that the foundation is proud of its cooperation with the Faculty of Education at Helwan University and seeks to maximize the benefits of this cooperation and reap its fruits by providing an excellent level of education that is suitable for students and scholars from different groups and components of Egyptian society.
This protocol is an important step towards strengthening cooperation between the Faculty of Education at Helwan University and active institutions in society, reflecting the faculty's strategic orientation towards adopting advanced educational models that contribute to the advancement of Egyptian society and enhance the role of education in human development.

A cooperation protocol was signed between the Faculty of Education at Helwan University and Suad Kaffafi International Schools for Language Learning SKILLS
in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hossam Refai, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs
with the aim of developing the academic level of students enrolled in the foreign language teacher program (German, English, and French) for international schools and languages, and providing the labor market and international schools with graduates of the program at a high level of competence and professionalism.

Helwan University organizes awareness workshops for the residents of Tora at the Environmental Protection Association to promote community awareness
Praise be to God, the awareness campaign for the residents of Al-Wahda City in the Tora district was successfully completed on Thursday,
July 31, 2025
As part of Helwan University's pioneering role and social responsibility in serving the community and developing the environment, and its keenness to raise awareness among citizens and communicate directly with residents, the Center for Monitoring and Studying Community Problems, affiliated with the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, organized a series of awareness workshops at the Environmental Protection Association in the Tora neighborhood.
In this context, Dr. Sayed Kandil, President of Helwan University, emphasized that the university attaches great importance to strengthening its community role through initiatives and awareness workshops that contribute to spreading culture and developing citizens' awareness, noting that these efforts come within the framework of supporting Egypt's Vision 2030 and sustainable development goals.
For his part, Dr. Walid Al-Sarouji, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that these workshops reflect the university's keenness to communicate directly with the local community, meet its needs, and provide practical solutions to its problems through the integration of academic, community, and religious efforts to serve citizens and achieve development.
These events were held in cooperation with the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Education, and the Cairo Preaching District of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, under the patronage of Dr. El-Sayed Kandil, President of the University, and Dr. Walid Al-Sarouji, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and under the supervision of Dr. Samah Salem, Director of the Center
Dr. Samah Salem opened the event with a speech in which she explained the importance of community awareness as an effective tool for reducing the problems faced by individuals, noting that practical training and direct interaction contribute to consolidating concepts and spreading a culture of awareness among citizens.
During the first workshop, Dr. Samah Anwar from the College of Nursing explained the concept of crisis, its types, and how to respond appropriately in crisis situations, while training parents on preventive measures and the use of fire extinguishers. The second workshop, presented by Dr. Fatima Ahmed Abdel Aziz from the Faculty of Nursing, addressed first aid skills, where participants were trained in CPR, artificial respiration, and dealing with bleeding, fractures, burns, and food poisoning in children.
Sheikh Hossam Mohamed Farouk from the Cairo Preaching Department at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif also presented an awareness workshop on the dangers of drugs to families and society, emphasizing their prohibition under Islamic law and highlighting the role of families in protecting their children, reviewing Al-Azhar's efforts in its campaigns to combat this scourge. Dr. Marwa Saeed Abdel-Qawi from the Faculty of Education spoke about maintaining the mental health of the family, explaining the impact of healthy family relationships on achieving psychological and social stability.
The workshops concluded with a practical presentation by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Razek and Dr. Abdel Razek Maras from the Faculty of Education, in which they discussed innovative models for recycling using simple household materials, such as making toys for children and useful tools for the family, which received positive feedback from parents and children.
These events affirm Helwan University's commitment to its educational and social mission and its constant endeavor to build a conscious society capable of facing challenges and creating a better future.

Higher Education announces registration for the second edition of the “Be Ready” initiative to prepare students and graduates for the job market

The initiative is being implemented in partnership with the Education Development Fund and major international institutions within Egyptian universities.
The programs target final-year students and graduates from the last three years.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the opening of registration for the second edition of the “Be Ready” initiative, which is one of the mechanisms for implementing the presidential initiative “Alliance and Development,” in partnership with the Education Development Fund affiliated with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and a number of major international institutions.
Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasized that the initiative aims to enhance the readiness of final-year students and graduates from the last three years of Egyptian universities for the requirements of the local and regional labor market, through the development of technical and personal skills and entrepreneurship. He pointed out that the launch of the second edition of the “Be Ready” initiative comes within the framework of the state's support for efforts to link education to the job market and build a generation of graduates who possess the tools to compete and excel in modern work environments.
Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning, Training, and Qualification for the Labor Market, and Acting Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector, explained that the initiative targets students and graduates at Egyptian universities through intensive training programs implemented within professional development centers at universities, with the aim of developing the personal, digital, and employment skills required for the current and future labor market. He also pointed out that the training programs are offered through a specialized electronic platform developed in collaboration with a number of local and international partners.
Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media advisor and official spokesperson for the ministry, announced that the ministry is responsible for the initiative's media relations and marketing through various media outlets, with the aim of raising awareness among students and graduates. He added that the General Administration of the Media Office and the official spokesperson for the ministry are cooperating with the media departments of public, private, and technological universities to spread awareness of the initiative through various tools, explaining that universities have already begun implementing an extensive media plan to support the dissemination and promotion of the initiative, including the production of short videos and awareness-raising events on campus. Dissemination will be intensified through social media with the aim of communicating directly with university students and graduates, thereby contributing to maximizing the benefits of this important initiative to prepare young people for the job market.

The Faculty of Education, led by Prof. Dr. Hossam Hamdi, Dean of the Faculty, received a high-level delegation from Shandong Normal University, China, to discuss ways of joint cooperation and enhance academic and scientific exchange between the two sides.
The meeting was attended by the faculty's vice deans and a number of faculty members.
During the meeting, the fundamental components and pillars of the Faculty of Education were reviewed, along with the most important advantages and services offered by the faculty and the areas of cooperation between it and various related entities.
His Excellency Prof. Dr. Sayed Kandil emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation in various fields of education and scientific research, noting that Helwan University places this issue among its top priorities, which it seeks to achieve gains and successes in on an ongoing basis, and that its officials are making every effort in this regard.
Prof. Dr. Walid Al-Sarouji also pointed out that Helwan University is open to cooperation with China in various fields, and that the university administration attaches great importance to this matter.
Prof. Dr. Hossam Hamdi welcomed the Chinese delegation and expressed his delight at this visit, emphasizing that the Faculty of Education at Helwan University always seeks to build bridges of communication and cooperation at the regional and international levels in order to exchange experiences and engage in partnerships that enhance the faculty's opportunities for excellence and leadership in various fields.
Officials from both sides (the Faculty of Education and Shandong Normal University) expressed their desire to expand scientific and academic cooperation and to benefit mutually from each other's diverse experiences and knowledge. The meeting concluded with an exchange of plaques and gifts and the taking of some commemorative photos.

Annual Charity Market at Helwan University's Faculty of Education to Support Students and Staff Before Eid al-Fitr
The Faculty of Education at Helwan University organized its annual charity market under the patronage of Dr. Sayed Kandil, President of the University. The exhibition was opened by Dr. Walid Al-Sarouji, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in the presence of Dr. Hossam Hamdi, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Dr. Mona Abu Hashima, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The exhibition was held in the meeting hall on the ground floor of the faculty, featuring a variety of items, including clothing, shoes, and bags for men, women, and children. The exhibition will continue until Thursday, March 27, coinciding with the last week of Ramadan and before Eid al-Fitr.
Helwan University is keen to organize charity exhibitions, especially during Ramadan, given their importance in supporting students and workers who are unable to afford clothing, as these exhibitions provide them with free clothing, helping to meet their basic needs. These events also promote a spirit of social solidarity and cooperation among members of the university community, as they help ease the financial burden on beneficiaries and provide them with high-quality products.
In addition to their role in social support, these initiatives contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals by providing unconventional solutions to support those in need and strengthening positive ties within the university. Organizing such exhibitions reflects the values of social responsibility and human solidarity, contributing to the creation of a more cohesive and collaborative university environment and making charitable work an integral part of the university's culture.

During their tour of the exhibition, the Vice President of the University and the Dean of the College praised the quality of the items on display and commended the spirit of positive competition among the contributors to the exhibition, as well as the organizers for providing adequate quantities of the highest quality clothing and facilitating access to the items on display for the students, so that the largest possible number of college students could benefit from them.
Prof. Dr. Hossam Hamdi, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized that the Faculty organizes such events as part of its commitment to its students, and that the exhibition is part of the Faculty's community role and its ongoing approach to solidarity and cooperation among all its groups and members.
During the opening of the exhibition, the Dean of the College thanked Prof. Mona Abu Hashima and Dr. Alia Fikri for their great efforts in producing the exhibition in such an honorable manner.
It is worth mentioning that the exhibition is open to students, who can obtain the items that suit them completely free of charge, in support of our students and as a contribution to easing the burden on them and their families.

The Faculty of Education's Agency for Community Service and Environmental Development, represented by Prof. Dr. Mona Sameh Abou Hashima, Vice Dean of the Faculty, participated in the symposium organized by the Center for Monitoring and Studying Community Issues under the title “Together Towards Building and Preserving Society.”
The symposium was held as part of the initiative of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi (A New Beginning for Human Development).
The following speakers participated in the symposium:
1- His Excellency Prof. Dr. Hassan Al-Sayed Khalil, Assistant Secretary-General for Islamic Culture at the Islamic Research Academy at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif
2- His Excellency Dr. Sherif Abu Hatab, Director General of the Cairo Preaching Region at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif
They discussed ways to strengthen national belonging and citizenship, distance from Westernization, and methods of prevention and protection from threats and dangers.
3. Professor Ahmed Abdullah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Community Service and Environmental Development (formerly), who addressed the issue of illegal immigration.
4- Professor Dr. Samah Rabie, Director of the Unit for Combating Violence Against Women, addressed the issue of cybercrimes against women and protection laws.
5- Dr. Mohamed El-Said, lecturer at the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, spoke about the dangers of betting, online gambling, and dark web.
6. Dr. Islam Abbas, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, Faculty of Foreign Trade, spoke about the economic risks of the arms trade.
